IT Technician

About the role

Express Solicitors is seeking an IT Technician to support the day‑to‑day operation and long‑term development of its IT infrastructure. The role involves providing desktop and hardware support to internal staff and ensuring the reliability of the firm’s technical resources.

Key responsibilities

• Administer in‑house software, including the Proclaim case management system.
• Provide desktop support and troubleshoot Windows 10 environments.
• Maintain and support printers, scanners, and other networked peripherals.
• Assist with company mobile phones, tablets and related devices.
• Support the firm’s telecoms system and IP telephone platform (e.g., Ringcentral).
• Maintain a comprehensive IT asset register.
• Support security systems linked to the network.
• Occasional travel to the Liverpool branch for on‑site assistance.

Required profile

• At least 12 months of experience in IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows‑based operating systems and common troubleshooting.
• Understanding of network infrastructure and computer hardware/peripherals.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities across a range of ICT disciplines.
• Ability to prioritize tickets based on business impact.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with Proclaim case management and Eclipse is a distinct advantage.
• Familiarity with IP telephone systems such as Ringcentral is desirable.
• Previous experience in the legal sector is advantageous.

What we offer

• Salary up to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
• Working hours 9:30 am‑6:30 pm Monday‑Thursday, 9:30 am‑6:00 pm Friday.
• On‑site working at our Manchester office.
• 23 days of annual leave.
