IT Technician – Newcastle upon Tyne

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Technician to join a newly established IT department in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be the first point of contact for a user base of over 200 staff, delivering 1st and 2nd line support for hardware, software and network issues while helping to maintain productivity across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support for desktops, laptops, printers and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software, operating system and network problems.
• Manage user accounts, device provisioning and de‑provisioning during onboarding and off‑boarding.
• Maintain and monitor Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory/Entra ID environments.
• Assist with LAN/WAN, firewall and VPN configuration and support.
• Document incidents and solutions using FreshService and other ticketing tools.
• Deliver basic training on IT systems to staff members.

Required profile

• Proven experience in 1st/2nd line IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Familiarity with networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, firewalls and VPNs.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving abilities.
