Junior BMS Electrician

About the role

A growing Building Management System (BMS) integration company is looking for a skilled and motivated BMS electrician to work on a variety of commercial building projects across London and the surrounding areas. The role suits an electrician with experience in commercial electrical installation, control panel wiring, HVAC controls or building services who wants to develop their career in building automation. You will work alongside BMS engineers, commissioning engineers and project managers on commercial offices, data centres, healthcare facilities and other buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Install, terminate and connect BMS control wiring, field devices and associated electrical equipment.
• Carry out containment installation, including cable tray, trunking, conduit and cable management.
• Install and wire sensors, actuators, control valves, dampers, thermostats and other HVAC control devices.
• Assist with the installation and wiring of BMS control panels, outstations and plant control systems.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics and installation plans.
• Work with BMS engineers and commissioning teams so installations are completed correctly and efficiently.
• Support fault-finding and resolve wiring and installation issues.
• Carry out electrical testing, inspections and quality checks in line with project requirements.
• Complete work in line with electrical regulations, health and safety standards and site procedures, keep accurate records and report progress to site supervisors and project managers.

Required profile

• Qualified electrician or strong electrical installation background; experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations.
• Good understanding of electrical wiring, containment, cable termination and control circuits.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.
• Full UK driving licence preferred; willingness to travel to project sites across London and the surrounding areas.

Required skills

• Desirable: previous experience with BMS, BEMS or HVAC control systems.
• Desirable: experience installing control panels, sensors, actuators and field devices.
• Desirable: familiarity with BMS manufacturers and platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell or Tridium Niagara.
• Desirable: knowledge of HVAC plant, including AHUs, FCUs, pumps, boilers and chillers.
• Desirable: relevant electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, AM2, ECS/JIB card or equivalent, and ECS, CSCS or other site access qualifications.
