Junior Business Controller

About the role

Saab UK is looking for a motivated Junior Business Controller to join its finance team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role supports the Senior Business Controller for the SR20 programme, working closely with project teams in the UK and Sweden to ensure financial performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project budgets, forecasts and expenditures.
• Analyse financial performance, identify trends and variances.
• Prepare and present regular reports, including cost‑to‑complete and earned‑value analysis.
• Ensure accurate invoicing and revenue recognition aligned with milestones and contracts.
• Support project planning and scheduling with financial input.
• Assist in developing cost estimates and forecasts.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for resource planning and risk management.
• Liaise between project teams and finance departments in the UK and Sweden.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant with at least 3 years of experience in financial analysis or project accounting.
• Strong interest in defence and technology products.
• Strategic thinker with solid budgeting, forecasting and reporting knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Proactive problem‑solver who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can meet tight deadlines.
