Junior Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Buyer to join our womenswear team at our Manchester headquarters. You will support the senior buyer in shaping the Ladieswear strategy and ensuring the right products reach the market at the right time and price.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the buyer to set and deliver the Ladieswear strategy.
• Ensure the right product, price and timing across the range to maximise sales.
• Negotiate cost prices with suppliers to meet department targets.
• Manage the Ladieswear critical path from product development to shipment.
• Oversee BAAs and analyse weekly trade reports to drive actions.
• Conduct regular comp‑shop visits to spot new opportunities.
• Participate in meetings, sign‑offs, strategy sessions and weekly trade reviews.
• Own specific Ladieswear categories, depending on experience.
• Travel to factories and showrooms to source new items, build relationships and negotiate costs, units and lead times.
• Attend weekly fit sessions with QC and design to ensure quality and fit.

Required profile

• Relevant buying experience in fashion at a junior level (minimum 1 year).
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with merchandising, design, QC and photo teams.
• Commercial awareness and ability to interpret market trends.
• Keen interest in fashion and trends.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong numeracy and analytical abilities.
• Self‑driven with a strong sense of initiative.
