Junior Buyer

About the role

Winedrops is looking for a Junior Buyer to join its buying team. Reporting to the Head of Buying, you will be responsible for sourcing great wines, negotiating terms and driving commercial performance across the UK and US markets.

Key responsibilities

• Build new producer and supplier relationships and scout the market for exciting, commercially viable wines.
• Negotiate price, terms and exclusivity to secure favourable deals.
• Develop and grow the own‑label and exclusive range, the strategic core of the business.
• Source flagship brands, sought‑after appellations and highly rated wines that members want to purchase.
• Own commercial outcomes of the wines you bring in, including margin, spend, sell‑through and stock health.

Required profile

• Proven performer in a similar junior buying or procurement role within grocery, e‑commerce or beverage sectors, or experience on the supplier/distribution side.
• Strong relationship‑building and confident negotiation abilities.
• Commercially minded with common‑sense decision making and initiative.
• Degree from a recognised university.
• Genuine interest in wine (the company will fund further education).
