About the role

The Junior Decontamination Technician will join the Hospital Sterile Decontamination Unit (HSDU) at Grange University Hospital. This entry‑level position offers the chance to develop a specialised career within NHS Wales, ensuring that reusable medical devices meet the highest safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, inspect, pack, sterilise and track surgical instruments and flexible endoscopes.
• Follow established decontamination protocols and infection‑control guidelines.
• Maintain accurate records of device processing and equipment performance.
• Support senior technicians and supervisors in daily workflow and quality assurance activities.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
