Junior Geotechnical Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary consultancy delivering geotechnical, ground investigation and infrastructure projects across London and the UK. You will work alongside an experienced team on residential, commercial and major infrastructure developments, building your technical expertise and project management skills in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and carry out geotechnical site investigations and ground assessments.
• Supervise intrusive investigations, soil and rock logging, sampling and groundwater monitoring.
• Interpret geotechnical and geo‑environmental data and prepare factual and interpretative reports.
• Conduct foundation and earthworks assessments, including slope stability and retaining wall design reviews.
• Coordinate geotechnical laboratory testing programmes.
• Support project delivery from initial investigation through to reporting and design.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ensure health and safety compliance on site activities.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a geotechnical or ground‑investigation consultancy.
• Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geology, Engineering Geology or related discipline.
• Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, organised and able to manage workload independently and within a team.
