Junior Legal Counsel – Litigation & Regulatory (3‑Month FTC)

About the role

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, highly regulated business to appoint a Junior Legal Counsel on a three‑month fixed‑term contract, starting immediately. The role offers broad, high‑impact responsibilities with real autonomy, focusing on litigation, disputes and regulatory matters.

Key responsibilities

• Lead contentious matters, disputes and investigations from strategy through to resolution.
• Manage external counsel to ensure efficient and commercial handling of matters.
• Support responses to regulatory enquiries and interact with relevant authorities.
• Advise on risk, complaints and incident management within a regulated environment.
• Provide practical legal support across areas such as employment and data privacy when required.
• Help strengthen legal processes and drive a proactive approach to risk management.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister (England & Wales or equivalent) with NQ‑3PQE experience in private practice and/or in‑house.
• Strong litigation, disputes or investigations experience.
• Exposure to regulated sectors such as healthcare, life sciences, technology or financial services.
• Commercial and pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders and work autonomously in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience managing external counsel and balancing legal risk with business objectives.
