Junior Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

This is a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position supporting a family‑owned manufacturing business in Preston. You will work hands‑on with both mechanical and electrical plant, keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently while receiving on‑the‑job training.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Perform routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and update records in a CMMS.
• Manage stock of components and fittings, ensuring the workshop is well‑supplied.
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks as required.
• Collaborate with production teams to support continuous improvement and minimise interruptions.

Required profile

• Junior Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar background.
• City & Guilds or Level 3 Engineering qualification.
• Experience or familiarity with FMCG machinery is preferred.
• Willingness to work onsite in a manufacturing environment.
