Junior Software Engineer – Automation Projects

About the role

This is an entry‑level position for a Junior Software Engineer who will join a specialist software team delivering industrial automation projects. You will receive structured training and work on a variety of projects across regulated sectors such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with the delivery of industrial automation and software projects from quotation to commissioning.
• Produce technical documentation including functional design specifications, RAMS and project quotations.
• Develop and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software.
• Support commissioning, fault‑finding and installation activities on site.
• Collaborate closely with customers, engineers and project teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in software, controls, automation or electrical engineering.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
• Strong communication and problem‑solving abilities.
