About the role
We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join Buchanan Lodge Care Home in Bearsden, North Glasgow. The role supports the delivery of high‑quality meals in a clean, safe and well‑organised kitchen, working closely with the Chef and care home team.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation and cooking under the guidance of the Chef.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the kitchen.
- Receive deliveries, store supplies safely and organise stock.
- Support the preparation and service of meals for residents.
- Ensure kitchen equipment is clean and in good working order.
Required profile
- Positive, reliable attitude with good organisational skills.
- Attention to detail and basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous kitchen experience is beneficial but not essential.

What we offer
- Hourly rate up to £12.71.
- Part‑time (12 hours per week) temporary contract.
- Paid PVG, pension contribution, uniform provided.
- 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro‑rated).
