About the role

Join the kitchen team at Buchanan House Care Home in Bearsden, providing high‑quality meals for 53 residents. As a Kitchen Assistant you will work in a clean, safe environment, supporting the Chef and ensuring meals are prepared efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas.
• Receive deliveries, store items correctly, and organise stock.
• Support the Chef in daily operations to keep the kitchen running smoothly.
• Follow health and safety standards at all times.

Required profile

• Positive, reliable attitude.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills; previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential.
