Kitchen Porter – Pump Room, Bath

About the role

The Pump Room in Bath, operated by Searcys, is seeking a Kitchen Porter to support daily kitchen operations. You will work in a historic venue that has welcomed figures such as Jane Austen and Charles Dickens, helping maintain a clean and efficient environment for staff and guests.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation under chef direction.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, restaurant, and service areas.
• Receive, count, inspect, store, and dispense goods and equipment.
• Support all kitchen and service spaces, including staff canteens and external reception areas.
• Report incidents, accidents, equipment failures, or food safety issues promptly.
• Help with basic food service when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a kitchen or cleaning role is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
• Team player with good communication skills.
