Launch Engineer – Automotive NPI (3-month contract)

About the role

This contract position offers an experienced Launch Engineer the chance to support new product introduction and vehicle launch activities within a leading automotive manufacturing environment. You will work on programme delivery from concept through to production launch, ensuring timelines, quality standards and customer specifications are met.

Key responsibilities

• Support multiple automotive launch programmes and pre‑production build activities.
• Ensure programme timing, launch processes and customer deliverables are achieved on schedule.
• Lead root‑cause investigations for dimensional, fit and functional concerns.
• Coordinate validation activities, quality inspections and customer submissions.
• Support launch timing, programme reviews and engineering changes.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and programme status updates.
• Work cross‑functionally with manufacturing, tooling, quality, suppliers and customers to ensure successful delivery.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification or equivalent automotive industry experience.
• Previous experience in automotive NPI, launch engineering, plastics or manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Full UK driving licence with flexibility to travel as required.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office (Excel, Project).
• Minitab.
• Knowledge of injection moulding and plastics assembly processes (desirable).
