Lawyer – General Counsel Team (Regulatory & Public Law)

About the role

The General Counsel Team is seeking a qualified Lawyer to provide high‑quality, solution‑focused legal advice across a broad range of regulatory, public law and litigation matters. You will work on a varied caseload, supporting major organisational projects and contributing to policy and legislative development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clear, practical, risk‑based legal advice on complex regulatory and public law issues.
• Identify legal risks in organisational projects and help shape effective solutions.
• Draft legal documents, guidance, contracts, presentations and training materials.
• Support litigation and external legal challenges, including court and tribunal proceedings.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external advisers.
• Share legal insight and contribute to knowledge‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a commitment to public service and regulatory work.
• Experience providing high‑quality legal advice in a regulatory, public law or similarly complex environment.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret legislation, case law and regulatory principles.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex legal issues clearly to diverse audiences.
• Collaborative and inclusive approach.
