Lead Analyst – Director of Econometrics (Hybrid, up to £80k)

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Analyst – Director of Econometrics to spearhead the newly created UK data‑science function for a global marketing and media analytics business. This hybrid role blends hands‑on technical work with strategic leadership, allowing you to shape both models and the team that builds them.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and implement Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) solutions from scratch using open‑source frameworks.
• Lead end‑to‑end client delivery, from model development to actionable recommendations.
• Ensure models are robust, reliable and commercially relevant.
• Act as a trusted advisor, presenting insights and strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Balance hands‑on modelling with project leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor and manage junior team members.
• Contribute to the growth and capability development of the wider data‑science function.

Required profile

• 8‑10 years of experience in Data Science, Marketing Science or Analytics.
• Strong Python expertise.
• Proven track record building MMM models from the ground up.
• Deep understanding of statistical modelling techniques and model evaluation.
• Experience in an agency, consultancy or client‑facing analytics environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and client presentation skills.
• Comfortable in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting and passionate about building processes and teams.
