Lead Data Scientist – Real-time ML & Analytics

About the role

Lead Data Scientist role at Uniting Ambition, working fully remote, building predictive models and machine-learning solutions that power real-time decision making for a leading UK technology business.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy predictive and ML models that operate at scale in real-time markets.
• Work hands-on with large, high-velocity datasets and scalable data pipelines.
• Collaborate with engineering, analytics and platform teams to optimise model performance and reliability.
• Mentor and coach members of the Data Science function, promoting best practices.
• Influence technical direction and strategy across the analytics function.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Senior or Lead Data Scientist, preferably in sports, gaming or related sectors.
• Track record of leading technical projects and mentoring teams.
• Degree (BSc/MSc) in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong interest in sports and data-driven decision making.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Machine-learning frameworks such as Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable).
• Familiarity with distributed computing and large-scale data pipelines.
• Knowledge of neural networks (optional).
