Lead Designer – Modular Construction

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Designer to join a fast‑growing modular construction business delivering innovative off‑site projects across the UK. You will own the design process from concept through manufacturing and site delivery, coordinating technical details and supporting the wider design team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead modular building designs from concept to delivery.
• Produce and coordinate detailed Revit and AutoCAD drawings.
• Ensure technical compliance with UK Building Regulations and industry standards.
• Coordinate design information with internal and external stakeholders.
• Support manufacturing and construction design processes.
• Manage project design programmes and deliverables.
• Mentor junior designers as required.
• Liaise with engineering teams, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support BIM Level 2 design coordination and compliance.
• Manage technical detailing across modular and steel‑framed systems.

Required profile

• Strong experience in modular, off‑site or steel‑frame construction design.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations.
• Experience leading projects through RIBA stages 1–5.
• Knowledge of hot‑rolled steel, light‑gauge steel or timber panel systems (preferred).
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification (preferred).
