Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Services

About the role

We are seeking an exceptional, forward‑thinking pharmacist to join the senior pharmacy leadership team at Royal Gwent Hospital. The Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Services will provide strategic and operational leadership for clinical pharmacy across site‑based specialties and will head the Health Board’s Clinical Trials and Clinical Informatics Pharmacy Services.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a patient‑centred clinical pharmacy strategy aligned with national standards.
• Lead and manage the delivery of clinical pharmacy services across all specialties on the site.
• Oversee the Health Board’s Clinical Trials pharmacy function, ensuring compliance and quality.
• Drive innovation in clinical informatics, integrating data‑driven solutions into pharmacy practice.
• Collaborate with the site management team to influence service development and resource planning.
• Mentor and develop pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
• Significant experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in a senior or leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing clinical trials pharmacy services.
• Experience in clinical informatics or digital health initiatives.
• Strong strategic planning and service development capabilities.
