Learning Mentor – Behaviour Support (Term‑time)

About the role
Reed is looking for a compassionate Learning Mentor to join a Further Education college in Dorset on a term‑time, full‑time basis. You will work directly with students who need extra support to develop confidence, resilience and positive behaviours, helping them to succeed academically and personally.
Key responsibilities
- Build professional, trusting relationships with identified students to encourage engagement.
- Monitor attendance, punctuality, behaviour and progress, recording data accurately.
- Deliver restorative conversations and support the creation of behaviour improvement plans.
- Respond promptly to wellbeing and safeguarding concerns, liaising with teachers, parents and external agencies.
- Signpost students to appropriate support services and interventions.
- Maintain up‑to‑date records and reports related to student support and safeguarding.
Required profile
- GCSE English and Maths (grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
- Experience supporting young people with social, emotional or mental health needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding principles and best practice.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and student wellbeing.
