Learning Support Assistant – Brentwood

About the role
Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide high‑quality 1:1 and small‑group support for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Brentwood. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to help pupils overcome learning barriers, build confidence, and feel safe in the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group assistance to SEN students.
- Implement and monitor progress against Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Adapt learning materials and classroom activities in partnership with teachers.
- Support pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Observe, record and report student progress to the SENCO.
Required profile
- Proven experience supporting children with SEN (e.g., ASC, SEMH, SpLD).
- Comfortable managing challenging behaviours and building rapport with students.
- Creative, proactive, flexible and resilient.
- Patient, empathetic and a collaborative team member.
- Full, clean driving licence with access to a car.
Required skills
- No specific technical skills required; focus is on SEN experience and interpersonal abilities.
