Learning Support Assistant – Classroom & Outdoor Support

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Learning Support Assistant to join a well‑established college in Maidstone this September. You will work directly with students, helping them build confidence in Maths and English while also supporting practical, outdoor agricultural sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to improve students' confidence and attainment in Maths and English.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to adapt learning activities to individual needs.
• Assist during practical agricultural and land‑based lessons, including outdoor activities.
• Encourage independence, resilience and positive participation throughout the college day.
• Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with young people in an educational or support setting.
• Confidence in supporting students with Maths and English.
• Enjoys both indoor classroom work and outdoor agricultural activities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, reliable and able to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
• Calm, positive and adaptable in a busy college environment.
