About the role
We are looking for a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to work with 16‑24 year‑old learners who have additional needs, including social, emotional and mental health challenges and Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The role is based in Crewe and offers a supportive environment to help students achieve their personal and academic goals.
Key responsibilities
- Provide one‑to‑one and group support for learners with SEMH needs.
- Implement strategies from individual EHCPs and monitor progress.
- Assist with classroom management to ensure a safe, inclusive setting.
- Liaise with local authorities to identify eligible young people for work placements.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to secure work experience opportunities.
- Promote the benefits of placements to employers and match learners to suitable roles.
Required profile
- Functional Skills Level 2 in English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent).
- Experience supporting young adults with additional needs, especially SEMH and EHCPs.
- Strong organisational and planning abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging learners and employers.
- Full UK driving licence desirable for local travel.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other digital tools for documentation and communication.
