Learning Support Assistant (Psychology Graduate)

About the role

We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to join a well‑respected primary school in Edgware. The role is ideal for a recent psychology graduate who wants to gain hands‑on experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in an inclusive classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Work alongside the class teacher to support daily activities and maintain a structured learning environment.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance to pupils with SEN, adapting tasks to individual needs.
• Implement behaviour support strategies and contribute to positive classroom management.
• Monitor and support the educational and emotional well‑being of assigned children.
• Help create an inclusive atmosphere that promotes equal opportunities for all students.

Required profile

• Degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience working with children who have SEN.
• Confident in behaviour management and adaptable to diverse learning needs.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Ability to collaborate with staff while also working independently.
