Learning Support Assistant – SEN Teaching Assistant (Autism)

About the role

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant with experience supporting pupils with autism in reputable SEN schools across the South‑West. The role is based in Bristol and runs during school hours, offering part‑time or full‑time options.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated learning activities for primary and secondary pupils with autism.
• Support students to achieve their academic potential and build confidence.
• Maintain records, evaluate progress, and assist with the development and implementation of individual support plans.
• Prepare students for tasks through pre‑teaching and supervise practical activities.
• Carry out structured classroom observations and provide feedback.
• Assist with physical, speech, language, or medical needs as outlined in approved care plans.

Required profile

• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent SEN/Autism qualifications.
• Demonstrated experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, particularly autism.
• Ability to adapt teaching approaches to individual responses and needs.
