Learning Support Assistant (Special Educational Needs)

About the role

This fixed‑term position offers the chance to work closely with teachers and the SENDCo to support pupils with special educational needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and develop independence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils with SEND, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence.
• Work closely with class teachers and the SENDCo to adapt lessons and activities to individual needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and social‑emotional development.
• Maintain a welcoming, structured and inclusive learning environment.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies to ensure pupil safety.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in a school setting.
• Compassionate, patient and enthusiastic about supporting learning.
• Interest in supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Clear and confident communication skills.
