Learning Support Assistant – Specialist SEN School

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join its specialist SEN school in Winchester. You will work with children and young people aged 4‑19 who have complex additional needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence, independence and positive relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils, adapting learning activities to individual needs.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Assist with sensory‑based activities and therapeutic interventions.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Deliver personal care, moving and handling, or medical support where required, with full training provided.
