Learning Support Assistant – Support Pupils with SEND

About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant you will provide tailored 1‑to‑1 or small‑group support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), helping them access the curriculum and promoting inclusion. You will work closely with the SENCO and teaching staff to implement learning plans and support pupils’ academic, emotional and social development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1‑to‑1 or small‑group support for pupils with SEND, ensuring safety and access to learning.
• Assist with the implementation of EHCPs, Individual Learning Plans and Behaviour Management Plans.
• Encourage pupil interaction, independence and engagement in classroom activities.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Attend meetings, training sessions and contribute to pupil reviews.

Required profile

• Passion for supporting pupils with SEND and making a difference.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and families.
