Legal Advisor – Private Law (Entry Level)

About the role

Kickstart your legal career with RAC as a Legal Advisor, providing expert guidance on a wide range of private law matters. This is an ideal first step for law graduates looking to build a long‑term career in the legal profession.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate legal advice by phone and email across core areas of private law, including property, employment, wills & probate, family, contract, criminal motoring and tort law.
• Apply RAC LS policies and products with clarity and precision.
• Handle escalated complaints professionally within agreed service levels.
• Log calls and activities using case management systems.
• Support the department with training, legal research and administrative tasks.
• Ensure compliance with FCA, Data Protection Act and other regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Law graduate (LLB); postgraduate qualification such as LPC, LLM or BVC is desirable.
• Experience in customer‑facing roles or call‑centre environments is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
• Knowledge of foundation areas of law: contract, civil litigation, tort, personal injury and statutory liability.
• Desirable knowledge of motoring law or advanced areas such as employment, property, family or wills & probate.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
