Legal Advisor – Property Sales

About the role

Sovereign Network Group is seeking a Legal Advisor to join its in‑house legal team in Basingstoke. Working on a hybrid basis (two days remote, three days on‑site) you will support the Development & Sales legal focus area, ensuring smooth property transactions for home sales and new builds.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and dispatch contracts, leases, transfers and shared‑ownership agreements.
• Respond to enquiries from buyers' solicitors and estate agents to progress sales.
• Provide regular sales updates to the sales teams and monitor mortgage compliance with SNG policies.
• Check plans against Land Registry guidelines and assess files for readiness to exchange.
• Assist senior counsel with complex tasks and support broader legal team projects.
• Perform administrative duties related to property sales, including data entry and file management.

Required profile

• Experience handling property sales in a law firm, in‑house department, housing association or local council.
• Legal qualification (law degree, GDL, SQE studies, CILEX or similar) – not mandatory but advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage property‑sale matters independently.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Professional discretion and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a case management system for legal data entry and verification.
