Legal and Data Privacy Manager

About the role

We are partnering with a global biopharmaceutical company to find a high‑performing Legal & Data Privacy Manager for their UK & Ireland Commercial Operations. The role combines commercial legal support with expert advice on UK data privacy, working closely with brand teams, senior stakeholders, and cross‑functional partners.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and approve a wide range of commercial agreements, including HCP/HCO contracts.
• Support brand teams on product‑related initiatives and ensure compliant execution.
• Maintain and update legal templates, resources and the Legal SharePoint site.
• Provide legal training and monitor legislative changes.
• Manage contractual disputes and litigation with external counsel.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, industry standards and corporate policies.
• Review promotional materials in collaboration with Medical and Regulatory teams.
• Support Group Legal projects, including contract management initiatives.
• Advise on UK data protection, data transfers and implement privacy projects.
• Deliver regular privacy training across the business.
• Support DPIAs, DSARs and maintain data processing records.

Required profile

• Minimum 4+ years post‑qualification experience (or strong 3+ years with product‑legal expertise).
• Qualified solicitor in England & Wales or a Commonwealth jurisdiction.
• Extensive commercial contracts experience and ability to work autonomously.
• Solid working knowledge of GDPR and UK data privacy law.
• Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Highly organised, resilient and comfortable in a fast‑paced commercial environment.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and sales teams.
• ABPI Code of Practice experience.
• Background in pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices or manufacturing pharma.

• Salary £85,000‑£90,000 per year (flexible based on experience).
