Legal Business Partner – Interim Legal Counsel

About the role

This interim position supports a leading public sector organisation’s national procurement function. You will work remotely or from one of several UK offices, providing strategic legal advice that underpins efficient, cost‑effective supply‑chain solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior stakeholders on procurement strategy, contract structures and contract management.
• Lead complex legal matters, delivering clear, commercially focused guidance.
• Embed legal considerations across commercial activities to ensure compliant procurement processes.
• Manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align legal advice with business priorities.

Required profile

• Strong experience in procurement law, preferably within the public sector or a regulated commercial environment.
• Proven ability to lead on complex legal issues and influence high‑impact decisions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced setting with competing priorities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proactive, commercial and solution‑focused mindset.
