Legal Counsel – Commercial Contracts

About the role

This position focuses on commercial contracts and supports the Senior Legal Counsel with day‑to‑day legal and compliance matters across Sightglass Vision’s international operations. You will collaborate with operations, medical affairs, and sales & marketing teams to manage legal risk while enabling business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements, including distribution, software licence, confidentiality, clinical trial and services contracts.
• Provide practical advice on contractual rights, obligations and dispute resolution.
• Liaise with external legal advisers under the direction of the Senior Legal Counsel.
• Support the Senior Legal Counsel on intellectual property, employment and data protection issues.
• Improve contract management processes, templates and systems.
• Review marketing materials for legal and regulatory compliance.
• Assist with IP portfolio management and infringement matters.
• Monitor and report on relevant legal and regulatory developments.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with approximately 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders autonomously.
• Clear communicator able to work with cross‑functional, non‑legal teams.
• Sound discretion, judgement and understanding of confidentiality best practices.
• Exposure to intellectual property, advertising law or data protection is advantageous.
• Experience with cross‑border transactions or the medical device industry is a plus.
