Legal Counsel – Employment (Hybrid, £47k‑£56.5k)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Lawyer to join a large, well‑established organisation’s in‑house legal team. The role is hybrid, requiring approximately two days per month in the Buckinghamshire office, and offers a competitive salary range.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on a full spectrum of employment matters, including tribunals, disciplinary, grievance, discrimination, redundancy, TUPE and trade‑union issues.
• Manage Employment Tribunal claims from Early Conciliation through to final hearing.
• Draft and review employment contracts, policies, procedures, settlement agreements and related documentation.
• Deliver employment‑law training and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Oversee external legal advisers and deliver pragmatic, risk‑based guidance.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 4 years PQE in employment law.
• Demonstrated experience handling Employment Tribunal cases.
• Excellent drafting ability and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strong communication skills, able to translate legal advice for non‑legal audiences.
• Commercial, solutions‑focused mindset; in‑house experience is a plus but not essential.
