Legal Counsel – Group Commercial Legal

About the role

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join the Group Commercial Legal team within Starling’s Legal function. The role will provide commercial legal advice and support across the Starling Group, covering third‑party supplier and outsourcing contracts, intellectual property and property matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate a range of complex commercial agreements, including third‑party supplier and outsourcing contracts in a financial services context.
• Support group‑wide projects that require commercial legal input, including intragroup arrangements.
• Handle all other group commercial matters, such as the management of the Starling Group’s intellectual property portfolio.
• Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and ensure timely execution of business and enterprise‑wide initiatives.
• Instruct and work with outside counsel on specialist matters as required.

Required profile

• UK‑qualified lawyer with commercial legal experience in a financial services setting.
• Experience gained in both private practice and in‑house environments is preferred.
• Familiarity with the financial services regulatory environment.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
