Legal Counsel – Hybrid (Cheltenham)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join our in‑house legal team in Cheltenham. Working closely with the General Counsel and senior legal colleagues, you will provide pragmatic, commercial‑focused advice across a wide range of business matters. The role offers varied exposure to contracts, procurement, data protection, regulatory issues, intellectual property and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clear, pragmatic legal advice on commercial contracts, procurement and supplier agreements.
• Support regulatory and compliance matters, including data protection and GDPR compliance.
• Advise on intellectual property issues and corporate/operational legal matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage a variety of commercial agreements, terms & conditions and NDAs.
• Assist business projects, operational initiatives and data‑sharing arrangements.
• Develop and maintain legal precedents, templates and support legal training across the organisation.
• Collaborate with procurement, commercial, operations and other business functions as a trusted partner.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in commercial contracts and general legal matters.
• Strong drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset with excellent stakeholder management.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives and work autonomously.
• Previous in‑house experience is beneficial, but private‑practice candidates are also considered.
