Legal Counsel

About the role

Mitie is seeking a qualified Legal Counsel to join its Power & Grid function. You will provide pragmatic, commercial legal advice across contracts, procurement and operational matters, helping the business achieve its objectives while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver commercial‑focused legal advice on contracts, procurement and operational issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Support stakeholders on legal risk, compliance and dispute management, liaising with external counsel when needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes and governance.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with post‑qualification experience.
• Background in projects or construction law, including NEC, Power, Grid and Energy sectors.
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex legal issues to non‑legal audiences.
