Legal Counsel – Real Estate & Real Estate Finance

About the role

Based in Manchester, you will join a professional services team that advises on a broad range of real estate and finance matters. The role involves supporting the business’s strategic objectives by managing commercial property transactions and related financing structures.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on non‑contentious commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, disposals and asset‑management activities.
• Draft, review and negotiate a variety of property documentation.
• Support transactions from initial instruction through to completion, ensuring timely delivery.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with property deals.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisers to facilitate smooth transaction execution.
• Provide legal advice on property‑backed lending and real‑estate finance transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate finance, security and ancillary documentation.
• Assist with transaction structuring, risk allocation, funding and completion arrangements, working closely with Investment, Credit and Asset Management teams.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years post‑qualification experience in commercial real estate and finance law.
• Proven ability to manage complex property transactions and related financing structures.
• Strong analytical skills with a focus on risk identification and mitigation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
