Legal Secretary – Corporate Team (Manchester)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join the Corporate team of a leading Legal 500 law firm in Manchester. The role can be full‑time or part‑time and offers flexible hours to suit personal commitments.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for client enquiries, handling telephone calls professionally.
• Prepare letters of engagement, legal documents, mail‑merge letters and PowerPoint presentations.
• Manage correspondence and communications on behalf of the Head of Corporate.
• Oversee file opening processes and draft engagement letters.
• Maintain accurate client records and filing systems in line with data‑protection legislation.
• Arrange client meetings, travel and accommodation for the team.
• Work confidently with the firm’s case management system.
• Support billing activities, including preparation of billing information and invoices.

Required profile

• Previous secretarial experience within a legal environment.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
• Discreet and able to manage competing priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
