Lettings Officer – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Hybrid)

About the role

As a Lettings Officer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, you will support customers moving into their new affordable homes, ensuring a smooth, supportive and efficient journey. Working closely with development, voids and internal teams, you will help minimise void periods while delivering a high‑quality, customer‑first lettings experience. The role is hybrid, based in Northampton with three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with Development and Voids teams to plan handovers and minimise empty property periods.
• Carry out pre‑tenancy and affordability assessments to ensure sustainable tenancies.
• Coordinate viewings, sign‑ups and customer onboarding, delivering a seamless move‑in experience.
• Prepare tenancy agreements and maintain accurate, compliant records and data systems.
• Build strong relationships with local authorities, agents and internal colleagues to ensure efficient lettings.
• Monitor properties on notice and proactively manage activity to reduce turnaround times.

Required profile

• Experience of working in a lettings or housing environment with knowledge of nomination processes.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
• Confident using housing systems, Microsoft Office and digital tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with a customer‑focused and empathetic approach.
• High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of your work.
• A proactive mindset, with the flexibility to adapt and continuously improve processes.
