Level 3 Teaching Assistant – PPA Cover (Primary Schools)

About the role

We are seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to provide PPA cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in primary schools in Blackburn, Darwen and Accrington, starting September 2026. The role involves delivering pre‑planned lessons, supporting whole‑class learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment when the teacher is absent.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver prepared lessons to whole classes during PPA time.
• Support pupils’ learning and manage behaviour.
• Follow and adapt lesson materials as appropriate.
• Collaborate with school staff to ensure consistent learning environments.
• Provide additional support to groups or individuals as directed.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting learning across primary year groups.
• Confidence delivering pre‑planned lessons to whole classes.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
