Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Primary School

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Blackpool from 1 September. The role involves supporting teachers and pupils across the curriculum, helping children achieve their academic, social and emotional potential in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and preparing resources.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
• Provide targeted intervention to raise attainment and progress.
• Support pupils with varying learning needs, including additional support requirements.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and give feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and an inclusive learning atmosphere.
• Contribute to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
• Participate in wider school activities as required.

Required profile

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Previous experience in a primary school setting.
• Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, flexible and positive approach to supporting learning.
• Effective classroom management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
