Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Accrington from September 2026. This full‑time, term‑time position offers the chance to make a real difference to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and raise attainment.
• Provide targeted assistance for pupils with additional needs, including SEN.
• Assist with behaviour management and help create a positive learning environment.
• Prepare teaching resources and classroom materials.
• Contribute to assessment, progress tracking, and record‑keeping.
• Support pupils socially and emotionally to help them achieve their full potential.

Required profile

• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience working within a secondary school setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, adaptable, and committed to student success.
• Proactive and positive approach to supporting learning.
• Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and child protection procedures.
