Lifecycle Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Lifecycle Engineer to join FORDS, a leading design and manufacturing business in packaging innovation. The role supports technical and administrative aspects of product lifecycle, working closely with global customers from enquiry through detailed proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide rapid, professional response to customers, delivering commercial and technical assistance including spare‑part identification, drawings and parts lists.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities, preparing proposals and negotiating commercial terms for repairs, refurbishments, upgrades and mod‑packs.
• Enter and maintain accurate data in ERP (Epicor) and CRM (Salesforce) systems.
• Manage projects, allocate resources and ensure successful completion.
• Collaborate with the Head of Commercial on initiatives to increase spare‑part sales, reconditioning, upgrades and contract sales.
• Support costing activities within the procurement framework, sourcing components to maximise margins.

Required skills

• Mechanical or electrical engineering background.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems, specifically Epicor.
• Experience with CRM systems, specifically Salesforce.
• CAD knowledge (desirable).
