Lifeguard – Pool Safety & Customer Service

About the role

GLL is seeking enthusiastic Lifeguards to join the team at Kempston Pool. You will ensure the safety of swimmers while delivering excellent customer service in a vibrant community leisure centre.

Key responsibilities

• Rotate across pool areas on a regular schedule.
• Supervise swimmers and maintain a clean, safe pool environment.
• Set up and manage pool equipment.
• Provide first‑class customer service and handle queries.
• Support the team by preparing studios, gyms or sports halls for activities.
• Assist with general cleaning and upkeep of the centre.

Required profile

• A can‑do attitude with a strong focus on customer service.
• Passion for swimming and a personable approach.
• Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Team‑player mentality.
• Ideally hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or be willing to complete training and pass a swim test.
