About the role

Sellick Partnership is seeking a locum Childcare Lawyer to work full‑time for a local authority in the East of England. The position is initially for three months with a strong possibility of extension, offering hybrid working and a competitive hourly rate.

Key responsibilities

Manage a caseload of complex childcare matters for the council.
Attend court sessions and advocate on behalf of the local authority.
Provide legal advice and act as a Legal Advisor to internal clients.
Deliver support services and guidance to stakeholders on childcare law.

Required profile

Experience working in the public sector or local government.
Qualified solicitor, barrister or chartered legal executive.
Ability to work hybrid with regular court attendance.
Full‑time availability for the contract period.
