Locum Occupational Therapist – Neurological Rehabilitation

About the role

We are seeking a locum Occupational Therapist to join a specialist neuro‑rehabilitation team in Southampton. The role focuses on supporting patients with complex neurological conditions to maximise independence and function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of patients with stroke, brain injury, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions.
• Deliver specialist neuro‑rehabilitation interventions, including upper‑limb therapy and splinting.
• Conduct detailed functional, cognitive and perceptual assessments.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans aligned with rehabilitation pathways.
• Plan discharge and support community reintegration.
• Collaborate closely with physiotherapists, speech & language therapists, neuropsychologists and other MDT members.

Required profile

• HCPC‑registered Occupational Therapist.
• Proven experience in neuro‑rehabilitation, particularly with stroke or brain injury patients.
• Strong understanding of cognitive and perceptual impairments.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads independently.
• Previous NHS experience is preferred.
