Machine Operative – 12‑hour Shifts in Beaminster

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Machine Operative to join a family‑run tea blending business in Beaminster. The role involves working 12‑hour shifts on a 4‑5‑5‑4 pattern, supporting fast‑paced production while maintaining high food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and blend teas and infusions according to the daily production plan.
• Receive, store, and segregate raw materials, ensuring organic and Fairtrade separation.
• Weigh, mill, and blend ingredients accurately following Bill of Materials specifications.
• Operate lifting equipment such as pallet trucks, pedestrian stackers, FLT and bag lifters.
• Fill bulk bags, collect samples and complete production paperwork.
• Clean and maintain blending equipment and uphold housekeeping standards.
• Follow HACCP procedures and food‑safety protocols at all times.

Required profile

• Physical fitness for manual handling and ability to work on a 12‑hour shift pattern.
• Reliability, punctuality and a team‑oriented attitude.
• Basic English reading and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and develop new production skills.

Required skills

• Valid forklift (FLT) licence or proven experience operating FLT.
• Experience with pallet trucks, pedestrian stackers and bag lifters.
• Ability to weigh, mill and blend ingredients accurately.
• Familiarity with HACCP and food‑safety documentation.
