Machine Operator

About the role

Driver Hire Southampton is recruiting on behalf of a growing drinks and beverage manufacturer for an experienced Machine Operator. The role is based in a modern production facility in Southampton and involves operating and maintaining equipment that fills, seals and packages high‑quality beverage products. It is a full‑time, Monday‑to‑Friday position with flexible start times between 4:00 am and 10:00 am.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor form‑fill‑seal (FFS) machines, multi‑head weighers, conveyors, sealing equipment and metal‑detection systems.
• Perform machine set‑up, calibration, product change‑overs, cleaning and safe shutdown procedures.
• Carry out quality checks, complete batch records and ensure compliance with HACCP and food‑safety standards.
• Troubleshoot common issues such as product jams, sealing faults, temperature variations and flow problems.
• Maintain production efficiency while meeting daily output and quality targets.
• Support cross‑training initiatives and assist with general factory tasks as required.

Required profile

• 1‑2 years’ experience in food, drinks or beverage manufacturing.
• Good understanding of HACCP, BRCGS standards, food hygiene and allergen control.
• Ability to work independently after training and as part of a small team.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to producing high‑quality products.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem‑solving attitude.
